About
I have always been a creative person from as far as I can remember. Shifting from different mediums starting with sculpting, to painting, and then photography. For the past few years I found myself completely obsessed with photography and I am driven to establish a new aesthetic that I can call my own. After learning about the history of photography I learned that photography as an art is mainly inspired by paintings which led me to the work I do now. I mainly take look at contemporary abstract, geometric, and minimalist styles and try to apply them to my work. My work now consist of portrait photography with a combined interest in street photography, although most will find me experimenting with different lighting techniques in the studio. Overall goal as an artist is to serve as an inspiration for others.
Through My Left Eye.
While I was still learning how to use a camera I instinctively looked through my view finder with my left eye.I never thought about this mainly because I always looked through with my left eye, however I was mainly right handed throughout my life. After taking a few photography classes one of my professors recommended everyone to open both eyes while taking photos so that we are constantly aware of our surroundings. After announcing that I looked through with my left eye a lot of my classmates and my professor at the time said “you’re one of the weird ones.” I was then self conscious of this until I viewed it as a symbol of the creative side of my brain taking over while I take photos. I took it more as an encouragement that I was meant to be an artist through photography.
